Split and Combine Packages for TikTok Shop Orders: Seller Shipping

As a merchant, I can split multiple items in one order into multiple packages for delivery and likewise combine multiple orders into one package for fulfillment and delivery. Based on orders split and combined from TikTok Shop or your eCommerce platform, the same will be synced across platforms via AfterShip Feed.
This article will take you through how the order splitting and combining work on the TikTok shop and eCommerce platform if you have opted for seller shipping on the TikTok Shop. Here we are taking Shopify as an example.
Splitting orders means dividing multiple items in a single order into multiple packages for shipping
Combining orders means putting multiple orders together in one package for delivery

a. Split order
If your order contains multiple products, you can split them into multiple fulfillment packages in Shopify allowing the ease of shipping the packages based on their processing times.
Once the order is split into multiple packages and fulfilled (shipping label generated), AfterShip Feed will split the corresponding order into multiple packages in TikTok Shop and sync the tracking number for delivery.
Go to Orders in your Shopify admin
Select an unfulfilled order with multiple products in a single order
On the order detail page, click Fulfill items
Decide which product in the order you want to fulfill. If you want to fulfill only one product momentarily, simply reduce the quantity to zero for the other product.
Input the package’s order number and carrier and click Fulfill item again
The package will automatically split into two fulfillment orders
In the example screenshot, one package is fulfilled, while the other is unfulfilled.
b. Order sync to TikTok Shop via AfterShip Feed
AfterShip Feed will split the corresponding TikTok Shop order and sync the tracking number to the fulfilled package
In TikTok Shop, you can see the corresponding TikTok Shop order split into two packages as done in Shopify with the order status of the fulfilled package updated to Order packed and ready for dropoff at carrier’s facility
On the Manage Orders dashboard in TikTok Shop, the order status of the split package will show Multiple status. Hover over it to see the separate statuses of each package which in the case where one is fulfilled and the other is unfulfilled will show Awaiting collection and Awaiting shipment respectively
c. Verify order sync to TikTok Shop in AfterShip Feed
On the AfterShip Feed Orders dashboard, you will see the TikTok Shop order ID along with the Shopify order number. The TTS order status will continue to show Awaiting packing unless the other package in the order is not fulfilled in Shopify. The sync status will update to order synced and fulfillment synced to indicate the sync across platforms
Once the other (all) packages in the order are fulfilled (label created) in Shopify, the same will be synced to TikTok Shop via AfterShip Feed with the TTS order status updated to Awaiting collection on both Feed and TikTok Shop.
Shopify does not support combining orders.
We do not support splitting orders on TikTok Shop if the merchant has opted for the Shipped by Seller shipping method. We recommend splitting orders on your eCommerce platform only.
a. Combine orders
Go to Orders > Manage orders in your TikTok Shop Seller Center
Move to the To Ship tab. Select Awaiting shipment order status
Select orders you want to combine. Click on Add tracking info appearing on the bottom panel
A new popup will appear confirming if you want the selected orders to combine. If yes, click Combine orders and continue
Upon clicking Combine orders and continue, you will be asked to verify and submit the package with combined orders
The orders that are combined will continue to show separately on the Manage Orders dashboard in TikTok Shop
The orders will have the tag Combined shipment with the order status for both updated to Awaiting shipment
c. Fulfill orders in Shopify
In Shopify, fulfill any of the orders in the combined order.
On the order detail page, click Fulfill items
Input the package’s order number and carrier and click Fulfill item again
b. Order sync to TikTok Shop via AfterShip Feed
Once one of the orders from the combined order is fulfilled in Shopify, the remaining orders will automatically be fulfilled in TikTok Shop via AfterShip Feed.
AfterShip Feed will sync the tracking number to the combined TikTok Shop order and update the status of other orders in the combined order to Awaiting collection with the same tracking number under the Shipping method tab.
The remaining orders from the combined order in Shopify will also automatically update from Unfulfilled to Fulfilled
d. Verify order sync in AfterShip Feed
On the AfterShip Feed Orders dashboard, you will see the TikTok Shop order IDs of the combined orders along with the order and fulfillment status updated to synced to indicate the sync across platforms.

1. Split orders on Shopify
a. Split order

2. Combine orders on Shopify
Shopify does not support combining orders.
3. Split orders on the TikTok Shop
We do not support splitting orders on TikTok Shop if the merchant has opted for the Shipped by Seller shipping method. We recommend splitting orders on your eCommerce platform only.
4. Combine orders on the TikTok Shop
a. Combine orders
Go to Orders > Manage orders in your TikTok Shop Seller Center
Move to the To Ship tab. Select Awaiting shipment order status
Select orders you want to combine. Click on Add tracking info appearing on the bottom panel

d. Verify order sync in AfterShip Feed
On the AfterShip Feed Orders dashboard, you will see the TikTok Shop order IDs of the combined orders along with the order and fulfillment status updated to synced to indicate the sync across platforms.
